# HYROS Installation: Recharge for Shopify

Use this guide when using Recharge subscription billing on your Shopify store.

**NOTE:** This only works if you have a Recharge checkout page.

## STEP 1: Copy the Universal Script

**IMPORTANT:** Use this specific script for Recharge, NOT the main Shopify setup script.

**If automating:**
Get the Universal Script from https://app.hyros.com/public/tracking/universal

**If guiding user:**
"Copy the Universal Script below (do NOT use the one from the main Shopify setup)."

**Script URL:** https://app.hyros.com/public/tracking/universal

→ Confirm: "Do you have the Universal Script copied?"

## STEP 2: Open Recharge Checkout Settings

**If automating:**
Navigate to Shopify Apps → Recurring Billing by Recharge → Checkout Settings.

**If guiding user:**
1. "Inside Shopify, go to Apps → Recurring Billing by Recharge"
2. "Go to the checkout settings"

→ Confirm: "Are you in the Recharge checkout settings?"

## STEP 3: Add Script to Checkout Page 1

**If automating:**
Enable JavaScript on checkout page 1 and paste the Universal Script.

**If guiding user:**
1. "Scroll down in the checkout settings"
2. "Enable JavaScript on page 1 of the checkout"
3. "Paste the Universal Script"

**NOTE:** If you don't see this option, contact Recharge support to enable it manually.

→ Confirm: "Is the script added to checkout page 1?"

## STEP 4: Add Script to Thank You Page

**If automating:**
Scroll down and add the same script to the thank you page.

**If guiding user:**
1. "Scroll down to the thank you page section"
2. "Enable JavaScript and paste the Universal Script here as well"
3. "Save your changes"

→ Confirm: "Is the script added to the thank you page?"

## NOTE ON RECURRING PAYMENTS

By default, HYROS will update Shopify orders to include upsell/recurring payments via Recharge and other add-ons like Zipify. If you experience issues with upsell payments, contact HYROS support.
