# HYROS Installation: Pinterest Ads ## IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE STARTING **Using TripleWhale parameters?** If you already use TripleWhale parameters (`padid={adid}`) on your Pinterest ads, you can skip Step 2 - just complete the integration in Step 1. --- ## REQUIREMENTS - Collect Before Starting | Item | Ask User | |------|----------| | Pinterest Ads Manager Access | "Do you have admin access to your Pinterest Ads account?" | | Existing TripleWhale UTMs? | "Are you already using TripleWhale parameters? If yes, skip Step 2." | | Catalog Campaigns? | "Are you running Pinterest Catalog campaigns?" | --- ## STEP 1: Integrate Pinterest Ads with HYROS **If automating:** In HYROS, navigate to Settings → Integrations and find Pinterest. Click "Add a New Account", name the integration, and complete the Pinterest authorization. **If guiding user:** 1. "Navigate to Settings → Integrations in your HYROS account and select Pinterest." 2. "Click 'Add a New Account', name the integration, and connect your Pinterest account to HYROS." → Confirm: "Is Pinterest connected in HYROS?" --- ## STEP 2: Install Pinterest Ads Parameters **HYROS Pinterest URL Parameter:** ``` ?pnt_id={adgroupid}&h_ad_id={adid} ``` **If your URL already has UTMs, use:** ``` &pnt_id={adgroupid}&h_ad_id={adid} ``` **If automating:** In Pinterest, select the campaign and ad to edit. At the ad level, find the Destination URL field. Add the Column button to see Destination URL if needed. Append the HYROS tracking parameter to the URL. Save changes. **If guiding user:** 1. "Copy the HYROS UTM tracking parameter provided above." 2. "In your Pinterest account, choose the campaigns you want to track." 3. "At the ad level, select the specific ads you want to track." 4. "Click the Column button, add the Destination URL column, and edit the URL by appending the HYROS tracking parameter." 5. "Save the changes." 6. "If using additional UTMs, add the HYROS parameter with an '&' symbol instead of a '?'." 7. "Repeat the process for each ad you want to track." → Confirm: "Are parameters added to your Pinterest ads?" --- ## CATALOG CAMPAIGNS ONLY For Pinterest Catalog campaigns, use a different method: Under ad details, insert the following in the **"Third Party Tracking"** field: ``` {unescapedlpurl}&pnt_id={adgroupid} ``` → Confirm: "Is the catalog tracking parameter configured?" --- ## TROUBLESHOOTING ### Missing campaigns? **Manually Importing Ads:** This is useful if you have awareness campaigns where a call-to-action button is not present or traffic isn't being sent to your landing page. Normally, as soon as a click event is tracked from an ad, it is automatically imported into HYROS along with the costs. However, if there is no click event, you will need to import the ad manually to receive the costs. **Note:** This will NOT enable tracking view-through conversions or associating ads without CTAs with purchases. It WILL allow you to track the costs associated with the ads. To configure: Go to your Pinterest integration, click Configure, and click "Import". ### TripleWhale Users If you are already using TripleWhale URL parameter (`padid={adid}`) on all your active Pinterest ads, you don't need to follow Step 2. Just complete the integration in Step 1. --- ## Source Synced from: docsContent.ts (pinterestAdsIntegration) Last synced: 2026-01-03
