# HYROS Installation: LinkedIn Ads

## REQUIREMENTS - Collect Before Starting

## STEP 1: Integrate LinkedIn with HYROS

**Direct URL:** https://app.hyros.com/integrations/linkedin

**If automating:**
Navigate to the HYROS LinkedIn integration page. Click "Add Account", name the integration, and complete the LinkedIn OAuth authorization. Select the ad account(s) to track.

**If guiding user:**
1. "Go to your integration settings and find the LinkedIn integration: https://app.hyros.com/integrations/linkedin"
2. "Click 'Add Account', then name the integration however you like."
3. "You will be redirected to LinkedIn and asked to log in."
4. "Select the ad account you would like to track with."

→ Confirm: "Is LinkedIn connected in HYROS?"

## STEP 2: Install LinkedIn Parameters

**HYROS LinkedIn Tracking Parameter:**

lnk_id={{CAMPAIGN_ID}}&h_ad_id={{CREATIVE_ID}}&h_ad_name={{CREATIVE_NAME}}
```

**URL Formatting Rules:**
- If your URL has NO question mark: Add `?` before the parameter
- If your URL ALREADY has a question mark: Add `&` before the parameter

**If automating:**
In LinkedIn Campaign Manager, select the campaign to edit. Find the ad's destination URL field. Append the HYROS tracking parameter to the end. Save and repeat for all ads.

**If guiding user:**
1. "Go to your LinkedIn Campaign Manager."
2. "Select the campaign you want to track."
3. "Edit the ad's destination URL to include the tracking parameter above."
4. "If your URL already has parameters (contains '?'), add '&' before the tracking parameter."
5. "If your URL has no parameters, add '?' before the tracking parameter."
6. "Save your changes and repeat for all ads you want to track."

**Important:** Make sure the tracking parameter is added to ALL your LinkedIn ads for complete tracking coverage.

## LINKEDIN LEAD GEN ADS (Via Zapier)

LinkedIn Lead Gen ads collect lead information directly on LinkedIn without sending users to your website. To track these leads, you'll need to use Zapier:

**If guiding user:**
1. "Create a Zapier account if you don't have one."
2. "Set up a new Zap with LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms as the trigger."
3. "Select 'New Lead Gen Form Response' as the trigger event."
4. "Connect your LinkedIn account and select the Lead Gen Form."
5. "Add HYROS as the action app using the Webhook action."
6. "Configure the webhook to send lead data to your HYROS API endpoint."
7. "Test the Zap and turn it on."

→ Confirm: "Is the Zapier integration set up for Lead Gen ads?"

## TROUBLESHOOTING

### Testing Your Ads
After setting up your tracking, click on one of your ads and complete a test conversion to verify the data appears in HYROS.

### Missing Campaigns? (Especially Engagement Ads)
If you're not seeing certain campaigns in HYROS, particularly Engagement Ads, this may be due to the campaign type or how LinkedIn reports data.

### Time Zone Note
LinkedIn ad reports use Universal Time (UTC) which may affect the way in which your journey data is displayed.
