# HYROS Installation: Google Tag Manager

## OVERVIEW

Install the HYROS Universal Script via Google Tag Manager for centralized tag management.

## REQUIREMENTS - Collect Before Starting

| GTM on Website | "Is GTM already installed on your website?" |

## STEP 1: Open Google Tag Manager

**Direct URL:** https://tagmanager.google.com/

**If automating:**
Navigate to GTM and select the correct container.

**If guiding user:**
1. "Go to https://tagmanager.google.com/"
2. "Select the container for your website."

→ Confirm: "Are you in the correct GTM container?"

## STEP 2: Create HYROS Tag

**If automating:**
Click Tags → New. Name it "HYROS Universal Script". Click Tag Configuration. Select "Custom HTML".

**If guiding user:**
1. "Click 'Tags' in the left menu."
2. "Click 'New' to create a new tag."
3. "Name the tag 'HYROS Universal Script'."
4. "Click 'Tag Configuration'."
5. "Choose 'Custom HTML'."

→ Confirm: "Did you create a Custom HTML tag?"

## STEP 3: Add HYROS Script

**If automating:**
Paste the HYROS Universal Script from HYROS → Tracking into the Custom HTML field.

**If guiding user:**
1. "Go to HYROS → Tracking and copy the Universal Script."
2. "Paste the script into the Custom HTML field in GTM."

→ Confirm: "Is the HYROS script added?"

## STEP 4: Set Trigger to All Pages

**If automating:**
Click Triggering. Select "All Pages" trigger. This fires the tag on every page load.

**If guiding user:**
1. "Click 'Triggering' below the tag configuration."
2. "Select 'All Pages'."
3. "This makes the HYROS script fire on every page."

→ Confirm: "Is the All Pages trigger selected?"

## STEP 5: Save and Test

**If automating:**
Save the tag. Click Preview to test. Browse your website and verify the HYROS tag fires.

**If guiding user:**
1. "Click 'Save' to save your tag."
2. "Click 'Preview' in the top right."
3. "Enter your website URL."
4. "Browse your site and confirm the HYROS tag fires on each page."

→ Confirm: "Does the tag fire correctly in preview?"

## STEP 6: Publish Container

**If automating:**
Click Submit. Add a version name like "Added HYROS tracking". Click Publish.

**If guiding user:**
1. "Click 'Submit' in the top right."
2. "Add a version name like 'Added HYROS tracking'."
3. "Click 'Publish'."

→ Confirm: "Is the container published?"

## VERIFICATION

After publishing:
1. Visit your website (not in preview mode)
2. Check HYROS dashboard for incoming data
3. Allow a few minutes for data to appear

→ Confirm: "Can you see data in HYROS?"

## TROUBLESHOOTING

### Tag not firing?
- Check trigger is set to "All Pages"
- Verify GTM container is installed on your website
- Try Preview mode in a different browser

### GTM not loading on site?
- Confirm GTM snippet is in your website's code
- Check for JavaScript errors blocking GTM

### No data in HYROS?
- Clear browser cache and test again
- Verify the script was copied correctly
- Check HYROS dashboard after a few minutes
