# HYROS Installation: Bing Ads (Microsoft Advertising)

## IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE STARTING

**Read these warnings first:**

1. **Using Wicked Reports, Triple Whale, or Northbeam?** You can use your EXISTING tracking UTMs. Skip Step 2 and go directly to the integration.

2. **Existing parameters at a specific level?** If you already use parameters at a specific level, you must place the HYROS parameters at the same level.

3. **Importing from Google or Facebook?** If you import campaigns from Google Ads or Facebook to Bing, the original tracking parameters may be carried over. You'll need to update them to use the Bing-specific format.

## REQUIREMENTS - Collect Before Starting

## STEP 1: Integrate Bing Ads with HYROS

**Direct URL:** https://app.hyros.com/integrations/bing

**If automating:**
Navigate to the HYROS Bing Ads integration page. Click "Add Account" and sign in with your Microsoft account. Grant the required permissions. Select the ad account(s) to connect. Verify the connection.

**If guiding user:**
1. "Go to your integration settings and find the Bing Ads integration: https://app.hyros.com/integrations/bing"
2. "Click 'Add Account' and sign in with your Microsoft account."
3. "Grant the required permissions to allow HYROS to access your ad data."
4. "Select the ad account(s) you want to connect."
5. "Complete the authorization and verify the connection in HYROS."

→ Confirm: "Is Bing Ads connected in HYROS?"

## STEP 2: Install Bing Ads Parameters

**HYROS Bing URL Tracking Template:**

**If automating:**
In Microsoft Advertising, go to your campaign or ad group settings. Find the "Tracking template" field in the URL options. Paste the HYROS Bing URL parameter. Save changes. Repeat for all campaigns/ad groups.

**If guiding user:**
1. "In Microsoft Advertising, go to your campaign or ad group settings."
2. "Find the 'Tracking template' field in the URL options."
3. "Paste the HYROS Bing URL parameter in the tracking template field."
4. "Save your changes and repeat for all campaigns/ad groups you want to track."

→ Confirm: "Are tracking parameters installed?"

## PMAX AND SHOPPING CAMPAIGNS

For PMax and Shopping campaigns, use a different parameter and place it at the **Campaign level** in the "Tracking template" section.

**PMax / Shopping Campaign Parameter:**

```

**If automating:**
Go to your PMax or Shopping campaign in Microsoft Advertising. Click on Campaign Settings. Find "Campaign URL options" and expand it. Paste the special campaign parameter into "Tracking template". Save.

**If guiding user:**
1. "Go to your PMax or Shopping campaign in Microsoft Advertising."
2. "Click on Campaign Settings."
3. "Find the 'Campaign URL options' section and expand it."
4. "Paste the special campaign parameter into the 'Tracking template' field."
5. "Click Save."

→ Confirm: "Are PMax/Shopping campaigns configured?"

## TROUBLESHOOTING

### "Need Admin Approval" Error?
If you see this error, you need to request admin access to the Microsoft Advertising account, or have an admin complete the integration process.

### Missing Campaigns?
If campaigns are not appearing in HYROS:
- Verify the Bing Ads integration is properly connected
- New campaigns may take up to 24 hours to sync
- Ensure the campaigns have received at least one click with the tracking parameters
